MORGANTOWN, WV (FOX 44) — The Baylor Baseball team was unable to even up its series against No. 21 West Virginia on Saturday, as the Bears dropped game two against the Mountaineers.

The early innings of the contest featured the two teams trading a run each, as the game was tied 1-1. The Mountaineers then broke the game open in the bottom of the fifth, scoring three runs, all through fielder’s choices or errors.

After West Virginia capped off a run of four unanswered runs in the bottom of the 7th, the Bears tried to respond immediately, as Hunter Teplanszky hit a solo home run in the top of the eighth. That would be all though for Mitch Thompson’s team, as Baylor was unable to close the game any more, despite finishing with just one hit less than West Virginia.

The two teams will close out their weekend series on Sunday, April 28th, with first pitch scheduled for 10:00 am.
